Submission – Attorney General’s consultation on Strengthening Australia’s response to modern slavery in supply chains

In July 2026, the Australian Government announced its intention to introduce a new criminal offence for the failure to prevent modern slavery.

Following which, the Attorney-General’s Department opened a consultation to seek stakeholder views on key components of the proposed failure to prevent modern slavery offence, and whether a Deferred Prosecution Agreement scheme could be introduced in parallel.
